Together with the composer François Sarhan and video artist Magali Desbazeille, François Raffinot has conceived an obstacle course through space. A collage of voices and sound elements accompanies the audience on its way through a three-part spectacle. The multimedia performance pas_de_direction is a poetic reflection about time. The interaction of sound, image and production produces a sense of rhythm all its own, leaving an impression of time that is full of opposition and harmony, brief intervals, as well as random yet impressive events. Between the daily coming and going of the crowd, in images, that pulse, breathe, sometimes unclearly, sometimes focused, we are witness to three men interacting. The relationship between them is choreographically described by the factor of time. They hurt themselves, fall down, get up and run on, turn back, press forward. Evey action is a challenge to their strength. They are egged on by their bodies and time, which pushes them forward relentlessly.
