d·a·m·p·f_lab:
New forms of interactive performance

d·a·m·p·f_lab is about conveying artistic processes that investigate the relationship between interactive technologies and the performing arts. Artistic presentations, panel discussions, introductions to software programs and a diversified specialized digital library offer a broad spectrum of information to anyone who is interested. The invited artists from the Kurort, Apparition and Rebound's lab projects give an update on their work and ask the audience to become a part of the action in dealing with this hybrid artform.

Prof. Marie-Luise Angerer from the Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln and Scott DeLahunta, Writing Research Associates (NL), who has mentored the projects, are the hosts of this discussion panel.

d·a·m·p·f_lab is a mutual research project by the Ars Electronica Center/Linz; V2_Lab/Rotterdam; Animax Multimediatheater/Bonn and tanz performance köln, supported by the European Commission/culture 2000 ( http://dampf.v2.nl/ )

Starting point of this work is one of Iannis Xenakis' most virtuosic percussion pieces Rebonds. Rebound's lab is a choreographic palimpsest of the musical original that was developed with the help of a performance steered synchronization of a group of computer programs (Eyesweb, Veejay, Supercollider, Max MSP). Percussionist Roland Auzet is sure to bedazzle you with his performance that takes place as a part of the d·a·m·p·f_labs.
