Interactive Videoinstallation, 1996

Saturday, 26. Juni, 7.30-12 pm, Halle

Three scenes, projected on the floor, seemingly show peacefull and calm situations but come to life when visitors play with acoustic signals like shouting or clapping hands. Thus activated images of confrontations and fight appear and figures start moving, dissolve from the background, dance or wrestle with each other. As soon as the voices and the echos of the sounds die away the images freeze once again.

Studio Azzurro was founded as an experimental centre of arts and video production in Milan / Italy in 1982. The diverse professional expertise of three people came together to create Studio Azzurro: Fabio Cirifino (photography), Paolo Rosa (visual arts and cinema) and Leonardo Sangiorgi (graphics and animation). In 1995 Stefano Roveda, an expert in interactive systems, joined the group. Since then numerous interactive installations and video environments have been developed.
